Ways For Keeping Warm All Winter

It’s now the coldest time of the year, fact. We can feel the cold air even when ensconced in our living rooms with the heating on.

Some like it hot, some like it cold, I belong to the former. Waking up to a white blanket doesn’t excite me and make we want to run outside and make snowmen, quite the opposite in fact!

Whilst we are in the grip of this awful weather, I have a few ideas to pass onto you which may save you money while you stay warm,

A fireplace blower is a great idea if you have a fireplace you use regularly. Instead of the heat just reaching the hearth as it normally does, it will warm the entire room.

The fan basically spreads the heat throughout the room that the fireplace generates. This means that you can do without the heating, thus saving you money. The heat will even reach the far corners of the room so everyone will benefit.

Getting into a freezing cold bed is never pleasant, and you tend to need the heating on full blast while you shiver. A heated blanket puts an end to the need for the heating to be on.

It’s up to you if you want to leave it on all night, or just turn it down. Once you are all snuggled in and cozy, the heat generated from the blanket and your own body will have you in a blissful slumber.

If you have a skylight; chances are that there are draughts coming through it. Fitting a simple blind that completely covers the window will keep the cold air out and the warm air in.

Try one or more of these suggestions and you will see a big difference is what it is costing you to stay warm throughout the winter.
